蒼蠅間白黑

科技事物日新月異，不過「人」還是沒有變。幾百年前出現的情況，今天，只要有人，還是會出現。

蒼蠅間白黑，讒巧令親疏。(曹植 - 贈白馬王彪)

意思很簡單，懷有機心的人混淆黑白，搬弄是非，挑撥離間；機巧的讒言，使得親人之間都疏遠瞭。

陳競立說的有趣，也很實用。大家別以為蒼蠅不過是小小害蟲，只懂得幾聲淒厲，幾聲抽泣，須知一旦被蒼蠅纏住，整天在耳邊嗡嗡叫，不但煩人，而且惡心。對付蒼蠅的辦法其實很簡單，那就是一巴掌把牠拍扁，然後掃入垃圾桶。

似乎，我們也要訓練好自己的拍蠅技藝。

塔門一遊

五･一到哪裡? 獄長一家選擇塔門。發覺塔門已變了很多。有補給、有美景。是閒遊的好地方。

景點一: 天后廟

不信天后不要緊。也到這裡看看。向身後一看，青磚瓦頂、長樓梯，景色也怡人。

交通：

1.      西貢黃石碼頭: 坐船到塔門 (船程約三十分鐘。但到西貢碼頭的車程有點累人。)

2.      大學站附近(步行約二十分鐘)的馬料水碼頭: 坐船到塔門 (船程約一小時。感覺頗舒適。但船班次較少。)

嘉道理農場

一家大小，戶外活動當然是首選。

不要看牠身形龐大, 牠的名字是...小喬呢!

小貼示：

１．公園很大，一天未必能全遊。若第一次到此園，可先坐巴士遊一圈，再到喜歡的景點細遊。

２．即使夏天出遊，也要帶外套。最高點是頗清涼的。

３．前往：（可在大埔鐵路站乘搭）選乘行走大埔至元朗西的 64K 巴士，於嘉道理農場暨植物園的巴士站下車。

Play the game the way I believe

If life is a game, I choose to play it the way I like.

Play it with happiness;

Enjoy it with a true heart;

Lose it with hope, knowing that there is always a way to solve the riddles;

Taste every bit of bitterness with heart and observation so that lessons can be learnt and true friends can be recognised.

Crisis and problems may arise.  Rather than avoiding them, tackle them when time allows.

It can be hard but for me it is also fun. 

Still it takes no harm to make it easier, right?  Why not add one more element – humour?

Principal and management

沒有很多的資產，也不是生於富貴之家。
即便如此，也可找到跟名人學習的方法。

If you will, you can.

These days, words have been heard about how incapable the principal is.  Knowing that I don’t want to hear these words, I ask myself why.  The answer is I want my school to have a wise principal. 
Still, truth is truth.  Then, what does it mean by a good principal?  What does it mean by a good leader?

According to Professor Chan, we can seek answers from the wisdom of Laozi (老子)

道德經:十七章
太上，下知有之；其次，親之豫之；其次，畏之侮之．信不足，有不信！由其貴言．成功事遂，百姓謂我自然．

My favourite line is ‘信不足，有不信’.  Those who can’t trust others cannot be trusted.  How true it is! Those who always want to hurt others are suspicious of others. 

Hope my principal will learn to be a good person.  If he himself was a good person, he would believe others are good people and can be trusted.

For use and for love

While a man was polishing his new car, his six-year-old son picked up a stone and scratched lines on the side of the car.  In anger, the man took the child’s hand and hit it many times, not realising he was using a wrench. 

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures.  When the child saw his father ….. with his painful eyes, he asked, ‘Dad, when will my fingers grow back?’

The man was so hurt and speechless.  He went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times.  Devastated by his own actions, he sat in front of that car and looked at the scratches.  It says ‘LOVE YOU DAD.’

The next day, the man committed suicide.

Friends, learn.  Learn to love.  If you feel lonely and hurt, take a step back and put these lines into your heart.  Carry them your whole life.

Things are to be used and people are to be loved.

If you look around, especially when your heart is broken, you may sense something is wrong with this world.  Yes, maybe.  When you look around, you may find that this world may get things wrong. 

People are used and things are loved. 

Don’t worry.  We believe in mirrors.  Treat people with heart and you will get the same in return. 

The Lord of the Rings

Once again, the forgotten treasure has come alive. 

If it is science that keeps the Man progressing, it is literature that keeps the Man’s heart safe.

So inspiring are the many quotes.  Can’t imagine how addicted I will become.  Should I find some time to borrow the books again, I will not be able to stop reading them.

Many messages are embedded.  I am not here to tell, but allow them to be noticed.

“Many that live deserve death.  Some that die deserve life.  Can you give it to them, Frodo?  Do not be too eager to deal out death and judgement.  Even the very wise cannot see all ends.  My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill…The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.” (and later the pity of Frodo …)

“I wish the Ring had never come to me.”

“So do all who live to see such times.  But that is not for them to decide.”

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”

“When the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer.”

“Those were in the stories…….”

“Even if you were too small to understand why.  But I think, Mr Frodo, I do understand. I know now.  Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t.  They kept going because they were holding on to something.”

“That there’s some good in this world, Mr Frodo.  And it’s worth fighting for.”

I loved them the first time I read them in the books.  I was moved to tears and couldn’t help sobbing.  I love these lines as much as I did, years ago.  Only I had forgotten them.  Once again, something that should not have been forgotten was forgotten.  Once again, they are remembered and will be kept in the memory, for many days, if not forever.
